Goodbye to DC
18Nov2005After a two-week stint here in Washington DC, I am looking forward to getting back to Bermuda. The trip has given me some interesting experiences, such as:
1) Being asked to delete photos from my camera, after taking some interesting lighting shots in a stairwell at a mall parking lot. It seems that cameras and private property don’t mix. People treat you suspiciously and tend to think you are a terrorist.
2) Eating pumpkin cream cheese muffins at Starbucks. Starbucks is becoming more and more like McDonalds in terms of coverage, but it still manages to retain it’s slightly upmarket image and has some great festive menu items.
3) Eating Barbacoa Burritos at Chipotle. Those things are the size of American footballs but much, much tastier. They really set you up for the rest of the day – and so they should, as a chipotle burrito averages some 1,300 calories and 75% of a day’s worth of saturated fat – but it’s worth it.
4) Playing squash for 2 hours then sipping back on beer which only cost 50 cents. That is certainly the life.
