Rear Window

I am staring out of my hotel window, taking in the nightscape around me. The rain adds an eerie effect and I can feel the cold through the window pane. People are making their way home from the mall after shopping, eating, and voting. Voting, because today was election day here, and the news is all abuzz with talk of a new governor of Virginia – a Democrat. The Republican candidate took the risk of appearing with the President in the final stages of his campaign – a move many commentators deemed as very risky. It is not that often an appearance with the head of state can work to your disadvantage. Such is the current popularity of the President of the United States.
