If Cats Ruled the World…

Last weekend on Sunday I decided to take my lead from Hamish and only do what he did all day. Call it an animal experiment.
So I slept, watched some TV, went to the bathroom a few times, slept some more, yawned a bit, cleaned myself, then slept again. It was pretty exhausting stuff. Eventually Hamish decided to go outside, so I had to do the same.
It got me thinking about what would happen if Cats ruled the World, followed quickly by the answer: nothing.
Cats may have been worshipped as sacred animals or deities in ancient Egypt, but I don’t think cat deities would have been any different to Hamish i.e. they wouldn’t have really got much done. Bastet, one of the first feline deities, was the goddess of numerous things, including the sunrise and the household, but I can only really imagine the ancient Egyptians praying to her if they were suffering from sleep disorders or if they had trouble relaxing, because that is what cats are really good at – rest & relaxation. Oh, and maybe the odd yoga pose.
Your Hamish looks just like our ‘Mister’. He was Lord of our house for almost 15 years. I still miss him…
What a great idea for a vacation! Do whatever your cat does (though I draw the line at catching birds or squirrels and eating their heads).

ur blog got me thinking, wat the hell were the egyptians thinking? Worshipping cats? and wats up with living in the dessert i mean all i know about egyptians is wat they did like a 1000 years ago! when will someone update me?????

Laura Jean – all my cat photos are original, although I do use PhotoShop to sharpen them or enhance the contrast etc. But I do not add backgrounds or the like.
