A Flying Visit

The Barrel of a Building

I spent most of this in Washington DC, but at the end of the week I had a meeting in New York down in one of the skyscrapers on Water Street (pictured on the right). Even though it was bitterly cold, with snow on the ground in places, I still realise every time I visit what a great city New York is. There is just a general buzz about the place which makes it a fun place to be.

The trip also marked the occasion of my 42nd flight in 12 months – not bad going really – although I wish more of my flights were to Vancouver or Malta on vacation rather than Washington DC on business.

UPDATE: Scott Adams of ‘Dilbert’ fame has just posted an hilarious article about air travel and security – be sure to give it a read.

  1. I live in DC and it’s starting to grow on me. But I love NYC as well- I had a chance at a job there and took the bus up for just one day. Didn’t get it, but New York is like that hot bad boy at the end of the bar- I did it before and I’ll probably do it again, even if it breaks my heart.
Next time you’re in town, email me and I will show you some good stuff!

  2. Your photography is absolutely outstanding!

  3. I’m jealous of your trips to Malta. Both of my parents are/were from there and I’ve never been myself. Next time you’re there please have a ‘pastizzi for me.

  4. exhale – Thanks for the comments – Malta is a great place. I really enjoy it there – and the food is great.
