sportychick/sio bd - it took me a second or two to figue it, especially as often you see it as you are driving, so you see XING then PED

These proclamations are interesting in magazins with crosswords and similar mind games – rebus(?) I think they are called. Other uses fall short I think. Don’t U2?!

I remember being in Los Angeles as a kid and seeing a sign for a mattress store called "Sleep-E-Z". I couldn't figure out what Sleep EEE ZED could have to to with beds.
More recently, I was in NC and wondered why one would call a fast food restaurant Chick Fill Ahh. The sign of course was spelt "Chik-Fil-A".

Maybe the price of gas in CA now will result in a lot more PED's XING. Remember to tell folks over there that we pay about $6.50 per US gallon here in sunny BDA.
