A Light House

7Jul2006

You don’t have to tell me. I know. I still haven’t picked up that paintbrush and put it to canvas.

The whole point of my taking up photography was to find some interesting shots which I could then paint. Those paintings would then be used to supplement the prints I already own, and to fill the gaps on the walls. The trouble is, I haven’t got around to the painting part yet…

So many of the walls in my home are bare. White. And bare. Which makes the house very light. And bright. But a bit dull, really.

So this week I caved in and decided to purchase someone else’s work to put on my walls. I have a bit of a red theme going on at home (well, the couch is red). And some of the pictures I have are in red frames. And I like ethnic-style works. So I went to art.com and got myself a print. It’s very nice, and my walls are now less bare.

But I really need to take up painting. Purely to satisfy the Scottish ancestry – after all, it will save me money.

  1. It kind of surprises me that your walls are bare. From the photos you post I’d expect you to have a very colourful home, other than a red couch. Maybe you need a girl to help you decorate?
