…it means it’s raining. Hard. And in Bermuda that means torrential rain, aka Tank Rain. People here are so affected by the elements that even office workers stop their work to congregate and stare out the windows at the precipitation.

Rain is particularly hard on scooter riders. Things you will see vespistas doing when the heavens open:

- Hiding in Bus Stops waiting for the rain to subside (I once did that and waited for 2 hours)
- Riding without shoes because the water is so deep
- Not wearing rain gear in the vain hope that it will die off before they get too far – (it never happens)
- Avoiding riding on the yellow line in the middle of the road because it becomes a giant thin banana skin when it’s wet

The good thing is that it’s still warm, so everything fogs up, especially sunglasses and visors, making the roads even more treacherous than they already are.
