Puzzles
21Aug2006Bermuda can be a strange place – something to do with the fact that it is so small and everyone lives in close proximity. And where else can you have a two day holiday for a cricket match? Here are some of the most recent miscellanea which have puzzled me:
- After picking up Hamish from the T.E.V (that’s the Vet in Hamish speak – I spell it backwards so he doesn’t catch on), I spotted the following on the noticeboard : “Wanted – good home for a pitbull/dachshund mix”. Think about it – doesn’t that make you wonder..?
- I then saw Jehovah’s Witnesses Mormons on the way to work (I call them the younger elders) with a banner “Honk if you prayed today”. There were not many people honking…on an island with so many churches, that made me think…
- Shopping at the hardware store, I was buying some new Swiffer Wetjet pads, and I noticed the wings and the lock-away core - do you think they use similar development technology to other familiar home hygiene products?

two things you do not want to see get made: sausages and pitbull dachsund mixes.
and people don’t want to say they pray ‘that’ way.
and yes, an all too familiar product. it’s all so cosy isn’t it?
But I wonder which absorbent wing-ed pad is actually cheaper? And are they equally effective? Yikes!
Hey those were not Jehovah’s Witnesses – must have been Mormons or someone else! I was not there, but they generally don’t use stickers like that (remember they want to talk to folks!)
Yikes, I guess Swiffer knows who their “core” audience is–pun intended.
But the younger Mormons are usually hot blond studs! No one honked at all?!
