Holiday Hiatus
20Feb2007I have been off. Learning to snowboard in Utah. No time for blogging whilst on the slopes. No time for photos without breaking my camera. Plenty of time on my rear end after falling over. Plenty of time sitting in airports waiting for connecting flights.
Fortunately, wearing a snowboarding helmet covers up my grey hair, and the baggy clothing hides my aging body, so not many of the boarding “dudes” noticed an old codger riding next to them on the lifts. But many may have noticed an individual cartwheeling down the slopes after an impressive wipeout.
The upside of this trip – realising you can still learn things nomatter how old you are.
The downside – realising that snowboard clothing isn’t quite as classy as a tailored shirt from Charles Tyrwhitt or Thomas Pink.

wow. snow. i’m jealous. i haven’t seen snow in a few years
I’m 52. I had foot surgery last spring, I was in a cast for six weeks and on crutches. I became very tired of telling my boring story, so, I started to tell people that I had a snowboarding accident. No one ever batted an eyelash, not even the youngs ones, they were very happy to commiserate with me. Good times.
Tom,
I was thinking about you and, for some reason your cool Notes Vacation DB today. I can’t explain why. Anyway, I then turned my A.D.D. brain towards the personal pageflake page of their new CEO and saw a picture ‘of the minute’ with a caption, ‘To see more Tom Quinn pictures click here (Flickr).’ I said, no way that is the TQ I know, it’s too popular a name to be him. Well, well, it was you. I am not sure what that means besides the absolute requirement for me to reach out and say hi. I hope your second tour of duty in BDA is going well. And lastly, I want that cool Vacation tool for my company! Stay well and reach out to me…lagasseter@gmail.com
