Enemy at the Gates

23Apr2007

At the weekend I watched Enemy at the Gates, a film about the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942. It was a pretty good film, especially as it did not involve the British or Americans, which is rare for a mainstream war flick.

The thing that got me were the final credits. After the first set which were the A-List actors (Jude Law, Ed Harris), there were then the additional players. The roles which stood out for me were:

  • Sweating Officer
  • Woman Plucking Eyebrows
  • Gaunt German Prisoner

I can imagine being an actor going to a casting call and being asked what the last part I played was, and having to say one of those. I wonder which one would have the most kudos?

  1. But wouldn’t you love playing Woman Plucking Eyebrows?
