Signs and Slogans

30Sep2007

When I was younger I used to love inserting a single word in a sign or slogan to try and make it mean something completely different from the original. Now I try and do something similar with advertising slogans. I try and use one word to make the slogan or hook line really capture the essence of the company it is representing.

Here are a couple of advertising tag lines I have seen or heard recently which have had the one word treatment applied. My word is inserted into the original surrounded by {curly brackets}:

  • {Obesity} – I’m lovin’ it (McDonalds)
  • We are {bad} drivers too (Exxon/Mobil)
  • We know why you {hate} travel (American Airlines)

Can you think of any better ones?
