It is that time of year when millions of Americans get in cars, planes and trains and travel hours cross-country to eat turkey. In the spirit of Thanksgiving I thought I would offer up some things I am thankful for:

  1. Giada de Laurentiis – for re-awakening my interest in cooking. Or maybe I should say re-awakening my interest in watching cooking shows. Or maybe I should say re-awakening my interest in watching very attractive italian women on cooking shows.
  2. Daniel Craig – for proving that big ears are back in vogue, which means there is hope for all of us
  3. A 5 minute commute to work – for increasing my quality time. When I hear of all these people spending 30 minutes or more just to get to work, I am happy that my daily trips are only sometimes punctuated by delays.
  4. Berocca – for keeping me healthy. Some people say that this multivitamin is a hangover cure, but I take it daily and it definitely keeps me sharp. And if it does help recovery from the occasional heavy night all the better, especially with the Christmas season fast approaching.
  5. The US dollar – for fending off the currency markets and remaining strong in the face of adversity. OK, so this one is a joke. It is at times like this I wish I was earning Elbonian Klods.
